Prince Harry Kills Taliban Fighters

Prince Harry kills Taliban fighter.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Prince Harry admitted of killing Taliban fighters after his 20-week duty in Afghanistan has officially ended. The 28-year old Prince, third in line to throne, is expected to arrive home on Wednesday.

The prince manned the Apache helicopter pilot’s weapons system, and he had “his finger on the trigger of its rockets, Hellfire missiles and 30mm cannon, flying scores of missions to destroy Taliban targets and protect British servicemen on the ground.”

Captain Wales, as he is known, joining 662 Squadron, 3 Regiment Army Air Corps, hinted that his active involvement in the Afghan front enabled him to kill enemy fighters, saying: “Yeah, so lots of people have. The squadron’s been out here. Everyone’s fired a certain amount.

“Take a life to save a life, that’s what we revolve around, I suppose. If there’s people trying to do bad stuff to our guys, then we’ll take them out of the game, I suppose,” he said.

This was the second time that Prince Harry was assigned in Afghanistan. The first instance was when he was with the Household Cavalry, although that trip had to be cut short because “a media blackout was broken”.

He also mentioned his dislike of being stationed at Camp Bastion and said he’d rather be on foot patrols instead of flying the Apache.

It’s plain to see that the Prince was just doing his job. “It’s not the reason I decided to do this job,” he said. “The reason to do this job was to get back out here and carry on with a job.”

“When you fire, you still get the cordite smell, which is bizarre. The whole floor vibrates and when you fire a missile the whole aircraft shudders a little bit.

“It’s not like any normal helicopter, as you can imagine.”

The Prince made it clear that he will give top priority on his military duties, more than his role as a royal.

“I am the Queen’s grandson and all that good stuff and I love representing her, but to be honest with you and as far as I see it, and as far as William sees it as well, our service towards our country in the military in whichever shape or form it takes will always come first.

“I will always be here for my grandmother and who needs to send me abroad for whatever reason. I don’t really have any plans. But this was my main plan, to get back out to Afghanistan,” he said.
