Crown Princess Mary stuns guests at the New Year Gala

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark at the New Year Gala.

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark pulls a stunner as she arrived at Amalienborg Palace for the New Year Gala hosted by Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik of Denmark.  No trace that she just came from a holiday in her beloved Australia. The princess really looked lovely as she sported a midnight blue velvet floor-length gown. The bottom half sparkled with the intricate sequins. Her hair was kept neat by the antique diamond and ruby-encrusted tiara she wore that perfectly complementded the Knight of the Order of the Elephant collar.

The 43-year-old royal arrived arm-in-arm with her husband, Denmark's Crown Prince Frederik. The heir to the Danish throne, meanwhile, wore the Danish military uniform and carried his ceremonial sabre for the traditional event. They were warmly welcomed by well-wishers outside before they entered the palace. Their younger son, Prince Joachim, 46, and his wife Princess Marie also joined the royal couple in the annual event.  Check out MailOnline for more lovely pictures of Princess Mary at the gala .
