A visit to Windsor Castle is not complete without enjoying the breathtaking ornate moat garden. It sits at the foot of the round tower and is the private area belonging to the castle governor, whose residence is in the Norman Tower.
The moat garden is divided into two sections– the upper and lower. The upper covers the slope of the Round Tower, with a stunning little terrace and pathway. A beautifully maintained lawn and rock garden that exudes the quintessential English feel awaits guests to enjoy the flowers and greens that bring a profusion of color.
Usually only visible when looking down into the moat from the Middle Ward, that moat garden is open to guests on certain days in August, where the flowers are in full bloom. When visiting the Round Tower, a tour of the moat garden proffers an extraordinary behind the scenes look around the castle.
