Queen Elizabeth II awards George Cross to NHS heroes


Queen Elizabeth II has presented the George Cross to National Health Service heroes at Windsor Castle. The George Cross is UK's highest civilian order and this year's ceremony gave honour to Covid-19 heroics for displaying ''courage, compassion and dedication'' amidst the pandemic. The ceremony also marked The Queen’s first public investiture since knighting Capt Sir Tom two years ago. Representatives from all four countries of the UK were at the ceremony.
