A seven-year-old Beatrice was diagnosed with dyslexia, which eventually caused her to delay taking her GCSE examinations for one year. She is currently a patron of The Helen Arkyll Dyslexia, a charity that helped her survive her own academic challenges. Once while addressing dyslexic children, she said, “You have magical brains, they just process differently. Don’t feel like you should be held back by it.”

She was elected as Head Girl during her final year at St. George’s School in Ascot. She earned B’s in film studies and history, and an A in drama. She attended Goldsmiths, University of London in 2008, taking BA in History and History of Ideas and graduating with a 2:1 in 2011.

She was the first member of the royal family to run a marathon, specifically the 2010 London Marathon wherein she and her friends wore tutus over legwarmers to support and raise money for children’s charities including one that was founded by her mother (Children for Crisis).
