Prince Philip and Prince Charles are up against the proposed wind farm to be built on Crown land

Despite the million-dollar pound subsidy that the Crown Estates is expected to earn from the upcoming wind turbines that will soon dot the Crown land, Prince Philip and Prince Charles have staunchly opposed the notion, reports the Daily Mail.

Late last year, the duke of Edinburgh called these wind turbine ‘absolutely useless, completely reliant on subsidies and  an absolute disgrace’, claiming they would never work and would need back-up capacity. Meanwhile, the prince of Wales called these “a horrendous blot on the landscape.”

Campaign groups have already emerged to oppose the project.

Duke of Edinburgh: Wind farms are "absolutely useless."

The prince of Wales said the wind turbines are "absolutely a
blot on the landscape."
