The Duchess of Sussex is pregnant and is expected to deliver the baby in the spring of 2019, an official
statement from Kensington Palace revealed.
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are
very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the
Spring of 2019,” the statement begins. “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated
all of the support they have received from people around the world since their
wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the
public.”
Hints of the duchess’ pregnancy already circulated when she was
seen at the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank on Friday. She and
Prince Harry quietly entered St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle after emerging from their vehicle. Netizens and royal followers quickly to
noticed that the duchess was wearing a wide-fitting coat at the wedding, concluding that this was to
conceal her baby bump. It did not take too long before Kensington Palace
officially issued a statement of the royal’s pregnancy barely six months after
her wedding with Prince Harry.
The announcement came at the start of the duke and duchess’ autumn tour
of the Commonwealth. On October 15, they flew to Australia where they
“will undertake an official visit to Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga, and
New Zealand” from October 16 to October 31, an official statement revealed.
The royal visit will focus on “youth leadership, environmental
and conservation efforts.” The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to
dedicate a number of new Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy projects, as well as join
in the fourth Invictus Games 2018,which will commence in Sydney on Saturday.
