Excerpts from The New York Times
London, April 23, 1963
"Princess Alexandra, cousin of The Queen, and Angus James Bruce Ogilvy, second son of the Earl of Airlie, were married in Westminster Abbey today.
"More than 2,000 persons in the abbey watched as the Archbishop, Dr. Arthur M. Ramsey, made the sign of the cross over the couple and gave a blessing.
"Thousands of well-wishers stood at the barriers and police lines outside the Abbey and crowded the curbs for blocks around to get a glimpse of the 26-year-old princess and Mr. Ogilvy, 34, as they walked from the abbey.
"The bells of the abbey pealed. There was a fanfare of trumpets and a skirl from the pipers of the Scots Guards, Mr. Ogilvy's regiment.
"The bride and bridegroom stepped into a glass coach and were drawn by four gray horses to a reception at St. James's Palace.
"The country is in a festive mood unrivalled since the wedding of Princess Margaret three years ago."
