Queen Elizabeth II meets President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden

Queen Elizabeth II concluded her extremely busy week by meeting  President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden on June 12 at Windsor Castle.

The ceremonial visit capped four days of meetings around the Group of 7 summit in the county of Cornwall on England’s southwestern coast. The Queen and Members of the British Royal Family attended the G7 Leaders Reception on Friday.

Her Majesty greeted the president and first lady on the dais as the First Battalion Grenadier Guards gave a royal salute and the US National Anthem played in the Quadrangle.

President Biden then walked across the sprawling lawn inside the castle to inspect the Guard of Honor, accompanied by their Commanding Officer, Major James Taylor. The Queen, meanwhile, in vibrant pink and floral dress and hat, watched with the US first lady from a shaded seating area.

The Queen then invited the presidential couple for tea at the castle's State Apartment.

President Biden is the 13th serving US President to be met by Queen Elizabeth II and the fourth to be hosted at Windsor Castle.
