Queen Elizabeth II flies to Sandringham after being told by doctors to rest

Queen Elizabeth II has flown from Windsor Castle to Sandringham where she is expected to spend the weekend. Doctors had given the 95-year-old the clearance to make the trip after she was told to rest due to tiredness.

The Queen was supposed to visit Northern Ireland but has reluctantly accepted her doctors' advice to take  a rest.

The Queen's trip to Sandringham is a poignant one since this is her first visit to her Norfolk estate since the death of Prince Philip last April.

  1. I am nowhere near 95, but I do understand about physical and intellectual tiredness. If I was Queen Elizabeth, I would abdicate and spend whatever time is left having a wonderful time with the family.
